Pipeline • Board Game • 2020

About Pipleline
Pipeline is a board game co-created by young people in collaboration with Ci3 at The University of Chicago. Based on research conducted at Ci3, Pipeline explores the school to prison pipeline as well as systemic structures and barriers that lead to over policing, packed prisons, and school closures in Chicago. Pipeline is being used as an educational tool and is currently in testing (pictured above) with youth with plans for a larger release in the near future.

Robin’s Role
For Pipeline, I developed and created the branding as well as the player boards, cards and screens. I also refined the board based on player feedback, for ease-of-use. Because the game board is hexagon-based, I wanted to incorporate that throughout the design of the assets which led to fun shapes that utilized sharp edges as opposed to circles.
