About:
Step Up is a digital game-based bystander intervention for high school students to understand the importance of diversity in STEM, and to acquire the skills, attitudes, and awareness to attain positive STEM identities and mitigate bias and harassment in STEM and health learning environments.
Robin’s Role
As the art lead for Step Up, I created the background and character art. When designing the characters, I wanted them to be relatable to the young people playing the game. With this in mind, I wanted the diverse characters to reflect a range of body types, genders, and skin tones. I further brought the characters to life with layered emotional states for the character animations. Additionally, I created UI for the game.

In creating the UI for Step Up, I wanted to keep the screen clear from clutter and wanted to keep the UI consistent and playful.
